Waterproofers to royalty

I have never noticed Cordings of Piccadilly, perhaps because I had no need for ladies' or gentlemen's field clothing. The shop was originally in the Strand but moved to Piccadilly when that became more prestigious. At one time it might have been demolished when Piccadilly Circus was enlarged, but fortunately they only had to shift it back 10 feet. 
Both the (later) Queen Mother and Mrs Simpson wore Cordings boots, and they kitted out Stanley when he set off to find Livingstone.
