Another Bhang lassi morning and, now aided by J from Bikaner, a quest for milkcake variations.
It's odd this rediscovering of the awe inspiring architecture of Jaiselmer while vainly attempting to align memory and moment, work out what it is I'm missing.
But does it matter?
Last time the fort was for the affluent, a few places while most of us lived outside and only climbed up to pass through.
Now, inside and out of season, 40+ each day, it's quiet and there's the possibility of slow investigation between half hearted attempts at salesmanship.
Once again the exploration leads to the main square where I meet babaji who explains a little about the history and architecture of the fort, pointing out that that gate below always collects a breeze and in hot days people gather there, a very clever design.
Later the misreading of a map taked us out of town to the royal mausoleum rather than the Brahmin complex we were looking for but it's somewhere I've never been and sharing the tuk tuk fare brings such things into budget. And it was beautiful.
But that's the thing, it's all beautiful here and lacking any need or inclination to rush things become slow, little done other than bathing in the wonder which surrounds.
