Tranquility
It’s been the most glorious sunny day today, about 19º, which is just perfect for Smithers and me.
We’ve stayed on the estate because Smithers is in constant pain and isn't able to walk far, but I can’t think of a nicer place in which to be marooned. There are birds serenading us all around, and the gentle babble of the beck which runs behind our lodge, together with the little stream which has been diverted from it through the estate, makes for a very pleasant background sound. There haven’t been any nature sightings of note like Monday’s wonderful kingfisher but, as you can well imagine, I have been keeping my eyes peeled for a reprise of that exciting moment!
The Traveller’s guests have just departed back to London, having had fabulous weather and thoroughly enjoyed their stay.
This is a shot of part of the estate, with a few lodges visible, and the back of the swimming pool/hotel complex to the right, beside the tarn.
