Reflections

A warmer day than yesterday.

A quick market shop then back to walk the hound before it became too hot for him to tolerate.

Stewed some apricots I bought from the market to have with breakfast and rinsed strawberries also to accompany breakfast.

Student in the afternoon.  We've nearly finished reading The Penguin Lessons by Tom Michell which we are reading on Google Playbooks.  Interesting to note the cover page on Playbooks is a still from the film starring Steve Coogan.  The book is autobiographical of Tom Michell's time in his early 20s in Argentina as a teacher in a private boys' boarding school.  He rescues a penguin from an oil slick in Uruguay and transports him as covertly as possible to Argentina to the school.  It's an account of a young man learning about teaching boys and understanding a penguin and maturing.  Why Steve Coogan was selected for the role is baffling.  

A fairly warm night.  The south facing bedroom thermometer registered 22°C.
