A time for everything

A beautiful day out

Monday
The forecast called for a lovely warm sunny day today, whereas there is rain/thunder storms forecast for much of the week, so we got out to make the most of it, by driving up to Dayton, to visit Wegerzyn Gardens and Cox Arboretum ( see extra collage). Both of these gardens have the formal part as well as natural trails through woodlands or prairie land. We didn’t see very many people at Wegerzyn, a man walking his dog, a father with his children, relaxing on the grass, and a young couple strolling through the woodland. We heard a lot of bird calls, but didn’t see many.
Cox Arboretum, however, was much more popular. The last few years they’ve had some gorgeous long tulip beds, but for some reason they weren’t planted this year. We climbed the wooden observation tower, and walked one of the woodland trails, but otherwise stuck to the more formal areas.
