Glenwood Gardens
Wednesday
The forecast hasn’t been very accurate so far this week. Yesterday it was off, and today it had called for cloudy skies with the likelihood of a thunderstorm, and in fact has been largely sunny, with no rain or thunderstorms, as of this point, at 8.45:in the evening. Because of the forecast, we had planned to go swimming for our exercise today, and we stuck with that plan, going early afternoon, since we find that’s generally a quiet time. 44 lengths for me today. Afterwards, since it was still sunny and warm, we went for a walk around nearby Glenwood Gardens. The gazebo in my thumbnail photo featured in my first blip way back in May 2008! The quote in the circular stone is from Wendell Berry, and reads,
“I part the out thrusting branches
and come in beneath
the blessed and the blessing trees.
Though I am silent
there is singing around me.
Though I am dark
there is vision around me.
Though I am heavy
there is flight around me.”
The other photos in my collage show the crimson flowers of the Pawpaw tree, and lilac blossom -:such a lovely fragrance!
