Time and Place

A long and marvellous day on the Isle of Coll! Glorious sunshine, exploring at Sorisdale, a percussion workshop for the kids, hiking up Ben Hogh, and the freedom of an idyllic, deserted beach at sunset.

As much as the latter yielded some great photos with which to treasure family memories, I felt this one, taken near the summit of Ben Hogh, was right for the blip.

The Clach na Ban-righ, or Queen's Stone, is a large erratic that was left perched on three much smaller stones by a retreating glacier, long ago. Somehow it ended up only a short stone's throw from Coll's highest point and this HDR seemed to me to capture some of its wonder and mystery. Shot on iPhone 4S and not edited.
