Atmosphere

A gloriously sunny morning prompted a walk round to the RSPB stables at Totronald, just me and No.1. A few more birds spotted, and a great chat with the RSPB warden.

The rest of the crew arrived eager for a picnic at Hogh beach. As we walked through the dunes, a thick mist rolled in from the sea. Surreal as it may sound (it was!) we were actually sunbathing amidst the fog. The kids were playing in the sea yet we could only see a few metres of it, isolated in a wooly bubble. It really was a strange experience — quite spooky actually!

After an hour or so, as quickly as it had come, it left. In only a few minutes it went from thick fog to clear skies with translucent blue sea stretching to the horizon. We got sunburnt.
