A day in the life

Fire

The somewhat chilly evening of "last of April" Valpurgisnight, when Swedes gather around huge bonfires made up of twigs, branches and all sorts of biological waste, was celebrated among friends in the north of Öland, in front of a small bonfire in the homemade grill. A couple of hours later we grilled some food and had a most lovely meal together. Even earlier, when we arrived, the flagpole needed attention since the line had broke so we had to fell the steel flagpole to put a new line in, in order to get the flag in the air. Quite a spectacular event that took place before any alcohol beverages had been tested.
The sun went down around half past eight, when we left for home, the temperature had fallen to 7degrees by then.
