Life through the lens...

Cherish every moment.

Using PicCollage it came up with this today.
I thought it very appropriate as today has certainly been one to cherish.
Such perfect weather all day. Up to 29C and wall to wall sunshine.

After our usual visit to Birstall market we decided to drive to Naburn Locks. Take a picnic and walk along the riverside.
Driving through the country lanes with the white hawthorn looking so beautiful along the roadside was a delight.

After a coffee we walked across the locks to have a look at the weir. I don’t think I have seen the river so low.
Then got chatting with a couple from Hull who were staying in their motorhome on the camp site.
An hour passed very quickly.

The horse chestnut trees were covered in flowers looking magnificent.  Quite a lot of boats moored up maybe waiting to go through the locks later.
Two greylag geese families were enjoying the water.

Then after our picnic we set off back home calling at Milford Plants to purchase some petunias. They always have some unusual varieties.

This evening we have had our first barbecue of the year. Such a joy to sit out in the garden with a glass of wine waiting as we waited for the food to cook.
A beautiful balmy evening.

Yes. Moments to treasure especially when our age.
