Another Day on the Farm
These old knee bones decided to ache until they woke me up around 1:30. I decided to read. Finally got sleepy after 3:00 am. The smell of sauteeing onions and peppers woke me up at 7:30. Today was our BIL’s day to make the rest of the crew scrapple and southwestern omelettes. I made a thin bagel with ham, cheese and tomato for me and then cleaned the kitchen. My sister put another coat of paint on her table and cleaned all of her painting supplies. Our BIL did PM on the side by side. Hubby renewed my Magnificat subscription and a few other on line tasks. The morning temps beckoned us all outside. I took a walk and found several “blippable” items. The newly painted rain barrel has been put in place. We found a Columbine my sister had forgotten about. It is stunning. The bleeding hearts were hiding, almost out of sight. The deer ate much of her azalea this winter but it has a few blooms. The red plant was on clearance at Lowe’s. The hummers love it. My sister and I have one to add to our MD garden. I sat on the front porch and watched orioles and hummers until time for lunch. Earlier this spring, I planted red hot poker in my well head garden to entice them. But I plan to put a feeder out there when we get home. My sister made us a fresh fruit salad for lunch. I worried when she added dark chocolate and cinnamon; it was heavenly. Will have to copy her ingredients (apple, oranges, bananas, clementines, pineapple, pecans, coconut, Redi whip) next time I make one. My sister and BIL are planting a bush my sister propagated from one our grandmother had in her garden. Not sure what it is. Hopefully we will be here when it blooms. Hubby is taking a nap before the guys go riding. There’s a whole lot of activity on the farm today. Wish I could stay awake for more of it. Sugar is napping so now’s my chance. Wishing you time for a lovely walk. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. “You can't use up creativity. The more you
