Milestone

We were out in Corstorphine for coffee with a friend who is downsizing and offering spare items to friends. As we are somewhat in need of a clear out ourselves we didn't expect to take anything but to commiserate, having seen how difficult the task can be from Big Brother's move. She is well organised and the newly decorated house will be appreciated by her buyers.

Afterwards we walked along the main road to visit the charity shops, passing this milestone. I've seen it many times but always when another blip has taken precedence. I never know whether to be pleased that it is preserved and protected or annoyed that it has been tucked away, half-hidden.

Higher up on the wall is a rectangular version with the same information - but that can wait for another time, hopefully someone will have cleaned it up as there is a large stain in the centre.

On another note, as the bird left the nest this morning she revealed eight eggs; however,  yesterday she seemed to be suffering from the heat and I'm hoping that all is well - she turns them regularly and appears to be a capable and diligent bird.
