Portrait Of A Lady

I know it is Abstract Thursday, but today's activities did not lend themselves to abstraction.  After some routine tests for me at ARA this morning, Dana and I went to see my mom, who turned 92 yesterday.  My brother and sister, along with my 95 year old dad had gotten there earlier and were just getting ready to leave when we arrived, so we got to visit with them for a few minutes.  Mom was still in bed, just opening her eyes occasionally and not speaking.  But, the physical therapist came in as they were leaving with the goal of getting Mom up, dressed and into  the wheelchair to go to the cafe for lunch.  Linda was really good at her job, respectful but firm about what she wanted Mom to do.  As you can see, she was successful in all but getting Mom to eat.  Mom would only drink some water or protein shake periodically and only spoke two or three words the whole time.  I am grateful to Linda that I was able to get this picture which I had mixed feelings about blipping, but I decided that it is a portrait, taken with love, showing nothing disrespectful----and it was an important part of my day.....In the extras, I have put the color version of the shot .....
