Sloth is a Sin- Read and Discuss
Much as I enjoy jaunting down to the beach of a morning, it is lovely to have days when I don’t have to get up early and get out. Today was such a day when I could turn over in bed and snooze a little longer. The trouble is that often I just spend extra time worrying about everything that really doesn’t have to be worried about. It never fails to surprise me that when I get up the worries disappear but I never learn to dismiss them in the first place.
I stravaiged round the ‘hood’ this morning in sunshine and warmth. I had thought to go into town but the thought of all the press of people put me off, so it was a leisurely coffee with my paper in Soderberg first before getting my provisions from the corner Sainsbury’s and then hunting for yarn in Nicolson Street.
I walked through George square Gardens enjoying them as I won’t be able to when the Festival Fringe takes over in August. The cherry trees blossom in the Meadows is looking faded now and with the rising wind it will soon be blown away.
It was still sunny when I got back home allowing me to sit on the patio with the crossword.
There was absolutely no household employment whatever done, it’s been sloth all day for me, but just as I was getting used to the sun and the temperature, the clouds rolled in. I watched as most of the people lounging on the Meadows got up and disappeared as did I - inside for lunch.
Being Friday, I can barely keep check of my excitement at the thought of my TGIF drinks in the Canopy Restaurant in the EFI building at 4pm. Simple pleasures are the way to go.
