Beauty is all around us.

The Feast Day of Saint Athanasius. Bishop of Alexandria. Consecrated in 328. He achieved much, including written works in support of the Great Council of Nicea. He is remembered for introducing monastic life to the West. He died in the year 373.

The Feast Day of Saint Peregrine. Patron saint of cancer sufferers and the ill.

Today here in Rishton, we are blessed with a beautiful, pleasant, sunny day. It is 13c at 6:25pm.

I have taken the day at a steady pace.

I went to Best One for our Daily Mail and Accrington Observer. It is difficult to reconcile how suddenly the newspaper costs have increased.

There was washing and clothes drying to do.

The birds ate eagerly even though, due to many pigeons feeding in our garden, Paul decided to remove the bird feeding pole and the numbers have dropped. The starlings and blackbirds and occasional magpies, still feed here.

I vacuumed the downstairs rooms and Paul vacuumed the upstairs rooms.
He cleaned the bathroom and caught a spider.

I did some weeding and checked on the seedlings. They are looking well.

The cats are being happy. The visiting cat, Star, turned up breakfast time.

The orange cactus buds indoors, are slowly revealing splendid flowers. The sunshine has helped.

Thank you all for recent stars and enjoy a good weekend.
