Oslo Opera House

This morning we took a walk from the ship to the beautiful Oslo Opera House just across the harbour from where we are docked.  This stunning building is clad in white marble and granite, and it appears to be rising up from the water in a series of angled planes.  You can walk right up the sides of the building onto the roof, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the city.

Inside, the lobby is really impressive, with dramatic, soaring walls of glass and handsome oak-covered balconies which rise to the full height of the ceiling.

Floating just beside the Opera House is a sculpture entitled She Lies, resembling an iceberg, it turns on its axis with the movement of the tides and wind.

A really amazing addition to the Oslo city center!
