This weekend Lincoln has a Festival of History taking place, featuring various crafts and activities from times gone by.

My Blip features a young man named Ben Atkinson and his very well trained stable of horses. They were so calm, gentle and responsive to their human. Part of me enjoyed the display, but I do wonder if it's a bit cruel to the horses to ride them by standing with one foot on the back of two horses at once, for example. He took them over a small jump like this. 

There was plenty to see around the castle area: stonemason demonstration, sword fighting, historical games, pastimes, music etc. Other things were happening in town and it's all on again tomorrow so we'll have a look in town then.

The other big event taking place this weekend is Super League's Magic Weekend, back in Newcastle again this year. Normally we'd be there but we didn't know if we'd be able to afford it this year...

It will kick off soon with Catalans Dragons playing Leigh Leopards. Wigan Warriors play Warrington Wolves tomorrow.
