High rise
I was in school this morning for a formal meeting that I was chairing, which went fine, and then a less formal one with the new Head. I think we're still sizing one another up but I enjoyed chatting with him nonetheless.
I was back in time to go to the cinema with the Minx, this time to see 'Stelios'. Neither of us could remember what it was about and we had to assume that we'd just enjoyed the trailer.
There's a lad at The Everyman called Jack, whom we really like; he's always cheerful, friendly, and helpful, and is clearly a huge film fan. It was he who mentioned that the screen was packed out, this evening: "I think the whole Greek community's here!"
Right.
And every seat was taken and everyone was speaking Greek and we had a great evening. The film was indeed in Greek, and I enjoyed the bits where everyone else laughed while whatever the cultural joke was sailed over our heads. (Thankfully, there were subtitles!)
I took today's photo as I was walking up to the cinema. I'm not a fan of skyscrapers, and I think all the high rise buildings going up are spoiling Manchester, but occasionally they contribute to a good photo (if I may be so immodest to describe it as such).
