After 'a lot' of catching up sleep, in the afternoon eldest decided to join me on a ride over to Infinity (motorcycle clothing shop) in Huddersfield.
We were hoping to take the road over from Uppermill but unfortunately we found the A670 & connecting lanes around it to be closed for roadworks, hence backtracking to Greenfield to take the A635 over Saddleworth Moor instead before cutting across to Meltham and beyond. Am not a fan of the 635 as it's much too bumpy for such an exposed & fast stretch of road, especially with a precious pillion on the back.
Reaching Infinity I was one lucky Gal, finding textile trousers in the sale that match my jacket (meaning they should be waterproof in the rain as well as on the label!), eventually finding the right size after a trying on sesh. Whilst in the cubicle I had to stifle laughter as an assistant got chatting to eldest about bikes...you know, Gixer this, Ducati that, 200mph+ trackday shenanigans etc etc...thing is by her own admission she knows hardly anything about motorbikes and I could hear her going "Oh yes" "Fair doos" "Ah yes nice" hoping he would disappear ;-D
She was over the moon then when he served us at the till which was where it all went Pete Tong. Returning an item last year & swapping it for a cheaper item I accepted a credit note instead of a refund. It seems that said credit note had an expiry date on it that has well, expired, and being a chain store place they won't be able to resolve it until Tuesday. They have reserved the trousers as I said I wouldn't be buying them from there if they wouldn't honour the note because it was a refund for heavens sake, not a freebie voucher!
Enroute back we stopped at nearby Victoria Tower (see blip) and Holmbridge for a coffee in the early evening sunshine sat outside The Pickled Pheasant. Nearby was a game of Cricket going on. Lovely place.
Then it was back home for tea and the swapping over of things onto my new phone...same as the old phone (although a more up to date spec) as The Who may have sang, although your Gal wasn't fooled again, it's just that the old phone was getting unreliable.
