Tea Party

Today I went to a tea party with my friend Melody. The church ladies set up the tables with special plates and glassware. In the photo is ours…gold utensils and gold edge plates…all plastic! The ladies did have the tiny sandwiches and cakes that are served for high tea…except they were chicken salad and pimento cheese. Only one type of hot tea because we don’t drink much hot tea in the south. Only a few of us had a cup. No scones to be found!!

Being that it was a “formal” tea I wore a dress! Which is not any way the norm for me. I had to purchase it new as I only have a black skirt and black pants for dress up that I wear with dressy blouses shirts.

Her church ladies were really nice and I knew several of them already. The speaker had a great message also.

Melody also surprised me with a belated birthday present. Another tea party at a historic home tomorrow afternoon. It is a fundraiser for a cat rescue. The house is Victorian so I can’t wait to see it.

Good thing I have a dress to wear as the invite says to wear your spring finest. Maybe I need to get a few more dresses!
