My topsy-turvy life

Newport State of Mind

Loopfest day 1
We were out tonight for the first night of Loopfest, the headline act being Goldie Lookin' Chain up at Shrewsbury castle. We got there in time to see the main support act, Trademark Blud, who did a fantastic job improvising along with suggestions from the crowd...I struggle to thyme things off the bat after 'you' and 'poo'.
By the time GLC came on the crowd had grown and everyone seemed to be having great fun with the -now aging- Newport Massive. After finishing with Your Mother's Got a Penis, Louisa and me wandered back down through town, stopping of at the OPO and a late set from Paul Parker. That's 3 performances and 2 venues already.

It was a fun end to a weird day. I took the car into Renault first thing for them to look at the battery while I took my laptop to do some work on Costa, only to get a phone call to tell me they still weren't sure what's draining the battery and they'd like to keep it for further investigation, until next week.
Google suggested it would be an hour and 40 walk home. I didn't believe that and set off. An hour and 40 later, I got home...although that was via the ice cream stand in the Quarry*.
