My topsy-turvy life

Looping around

Loopfest day 2
With nobody to look after Owen, Louisa and me decided to split up Loopfest and do a day each with me getting today. I got into town a bit later than I originally intended but two of the acts I definitely wanted to see were Idle Noise (indie rock 'n' roll from Coventry) who were playing Shrewsbury College and The Cheap Thrills (a scouse 3 piece) up at the castle. I had about 20 minutes between them so stopped off at Albert's Shed en route to check out a bit of Cartoon Violence (old piano punk). The Cheap Thrills were great and the crowds were certainly growing by that point. With a bit of time between them and Beatles Dub Club I popped to St Mary's to check out Robert (funk pop) in a beautiful venue. Beatles Dub Club was a bit disappointing really and reminded me more of a Jive Bunny Beatles album I once had, so I left there early to get back down to Shrewsbury College for Chasing August, stopping off at Morris Hall for the end of Flat Moon (a fun cacophony of noise from Leeds).
I'd heard of Chasing August from The Salopian Mixtape podcast and thought I'd check them out before heading home. They were so good, getting the crowd going and entertaining that I stayed for the whole set in the end, even waiting for a possible encore...stupid curfew!

Loopfest, you didn't disappoint...
