Richard and I both had indoor tasks to finish this morning - we both have short talks to prepare (his on a folklore theme, mine for the Photo Society).
In the afternoon we escaped to nearby Weston Park, where I wanted to record a recently-unveiled sculpture for the ArtUK database. I needed diffuse light, and today's cloudy conditions were perfect.
The statue - 'Boy with Dove' - commemorates a 1950 visit by Pablo Picasso to Sheffield, for the World Peace Congress.  There's a little more information below, including details about the International Brigades and trade union movement context.  It's a lovely piece of work.

After that, we went into Weston Park museum to take a look at the current exhibition by Pete McKee - The Boy with a leg Named Brian.  McKee's work is full of affection for Sheffield, the city that's been my adopted home since 1975.  We'll be back for a more detailed look another day.  Meanwhile, here's a link (to PM's Facebook page) that gives a few glimpses of the exhibition.
