Rupert

“I say Roger, what’s going on? Last night I was put in a plastic box and now I’m on a table in a field with loads of people looking at me.” “Me too, Rupert. You don’t think they’re trying to get rid of us do you…?”
Well, the boys were sort of right. It was the first car boot of the year for us and we were up and about at very silly o’clock this morning. The early start paid off though, as we got a decent pitch at what would prove to be a very busy site. Although it was dry and sunny, a fresh northerly wind meant it was pretty cool when you were out of the sun. A good morning’s selling resulted in a reasonable profit and - more importantly - a couple of empty boxes. We’ve got another sale scheduled for next Sunday (won’t need to be up quite so early as it’s in Kendal) so will hope to shift more stuff then. We will probably have another trawl through the house during the week to see if there is anything else that could go.
And Rupert and Roger? I’m pleased to report that good homes were found for both of them. I’m sure they will be loved by their new owners…
