At WWT Barnes
Today I went with daughter and family for breakfast at the Rick Stein restaurant in Barnes….we had a nice table overlooking the river and I was surprised there were not many people there. The food and service was good. Then we went to the WWT Barnes, again much less busy than we had predicted.
The photo is at the entrance of Peter Scott who founded the WWT at Slimbridge. As well as the metal swans there were two nesting alongside him! We stayed there for several hours looking at all the water birds and there were also lots of swifts flying around. We didn’t go to the otter feeding talk but did go later and the two otters were playing in their pool…see extra.
The temperature was very changeable throughout the day…I needed a thick jacket on this morning but then we had warmer sun for a while.
