Nicky and her Nikon

St Georges Wharf, Vauxhall

Today was very blustery and quite cold, a sudden change in the weather. This morning was what has become my usual routine of walking Xena, and then getting the train to Vauxhall to go visit Gavin in hospital. Being a Sunday the trains were a bit screwed up due to engineering works so we had to drive to the next village to get the train.

These buildings, known as St Georges Wharf are seen as the train approaches the station. The buildings are said to resemble an ocean liner, although I am always reminded of a moth's antennae when I look at them. The layered teal and sandy brown building on the left is the headquarters of the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), commonly known as MI6 - where James Bond works!

And these buildings are a distraction from the nightmare going on in my head as I worry about Gavin. Today he was very tired and feeling weak, he is not sleeping properly so until he has a good night's sleep he won't feel better. Still taking in soft foods but his bowel after the surgery is taking time to get used to it. Not surprising after it was cut and then rejoined.  No real progress today but not any worse either.

We are just taking things one day at a time now, and trying to remain positive.

Adam facetimed his dad while we were there. With Adam in California, Gavin's brother in Canada, and my family in SA we are keeping them up to date by phone calls, whatsapps and video calls. It is hard with Adam being so far away.
