Everyday I Write The Book

Wisteria hysteria

The Instagrammers were going mad at Wisley today. If it wasn’t the wisteria it was the rhododendrons, both of which were out in full force. It does of course look particularly spectacular at this time of year.

They had a craft fair on but I have to say I have never seen such a lot of overpriced crap in my life. Cliched pictures, ugly woodwork, garish pots … the only stall we liked was run by a delightful man who hand made educational wooden toys. We bought two for little Miss A.

Got a bit mucky doing some gardening in the afternoon. I am quite literally pushing the boundaries as I seek to get rid of everything out of sight so that not a garden tool or box or piece of scrap wood is visible, only the beauty of the garden itself.

For leisure I am rewatching a 1972 series of Dr Who called The Daemons. Don’t ask me why. Pure nostalgia. The acting is awful, the sets shaky and the story arc decidedly dodgy. But according to one of those highly scientific quizzes that I did years ago, my personality type most closely aligns with that of Jon Pertwee, the third doctor - all pomposity, dubious science and dodgy shirts. Yup, me to a tee.

Had an Ocado delivery tonight, which included vegan spam. Hilarious. Can’t wait to try it.
