A Day at the Races

Optimistically Ben and friends set off for Newmarket late morning in their summer gear.  The weather forecast wasn't great but they threw caution to the wind...

And it *was* windy, I was playing an outside Linton Jazz gig at the Bartlow Walk this afternoon and when the sun went behind the clouds it was coooold.  And then, keeping the music on the stand because of the wind was challenging.... and most of us made a beeline for a hot coffee/tea at the break (as opposed to a beer) to keep our hands operational!  Photo of the band in extras.

Great turn out though so I'm glad we were there.  Hats off to those that organise the Bartlow Walk - I've heard nothing but positive feedback.

I hope the racers weren't as cold in Newmarket.  I don't expect them back until much later tonight.
