Yesnaby Castle

A place with a sense of foreboding! We walked along the cliffs the the sea stack which was very impressive. The land seems to be slipping into the sea which created an unusual landscape with little growing. We had thought to spent the night here but it was very windy so instead we headed to the more sheltered carpark at Skara Brae . The sun greeted us .
Earlier we visited a farm museum which had the last “firehouse” in Northern Europe . The extra shows the peat fire . I’m pleased that I have more comfortable lodgings .
