Prynais i blanhigyn 'Beautyberry' (Callicarpa americana) i Nor'dzin am Nadolig. Rydw i'n hollol naïf am blanhigion, felly gwnes i gadw'r planhigyn yn ei bocs ac yn ei lapio yn barod am Nadolig. Wrth gwrs, dyna oedd y peth hollol anghywir i'w wneud.

Erbyn Nadolig, pan dadlapiodd Nor'dzin ei hanrheg roedd dim ond ffon farw. Trist iawn. Archebais i blanhigyn amnewid ar ôl Nadolig.

Ond ni roddodd Nor'dzin y gorau iddo. Gwnaeth hi ddyfrio'r planhigyn anffodus, ac yn araf, yn araf, daeth yn ôl i fyw. Mae'n nawr mewn pot o flaen y tŷ ac rydw i'n ei dyfrio bob bore gyda'r planhigion eraill, cyn mae'r haul poeth yn ei tharo.

Mae'n stori (gyda diweddglo hapus) am ddyfalbarhad. Y ddau'r planhigyn a Nor'dzin hefyd.

Ac yn nawr mae dau o blanhigion 'Beautyberry' gyda ni.

I bought a 'Beautyberry' (Callicarpa americana) plant for Nor'dzin for Christmas. I'm completely naive about plants, so I kept the plant in its box and wrapped it up ready for Christmas. Of course, that was entirely the wrong thing to do.

By Christmas, when Nor'dzin unwrapped her present there was only a dead stick. Very sad. I ordered a replacement plant after Christmas.

But Nor'dzin didn't give up on it. She watered the unfortunate plant, and slowly, slowly, it came back to life. It is now in a pot in front of the house and I water it every morning with the other plants, before the hot sun hits it.

It's a story (with a happy ending) about perseverance. Both the plant and Nor'dzin as well.

And now we have two 'Beautyberry' plants.
