Soapbox
As you can see, I popped over to Miami for the F1 Grand Prix.
Well, almost. The 2025 Bradford Soapbox Challenge was I’m sure just as exciting, as the unpowered vehicles navigated a tricky, twisty downhill run through the city centre. It was good to see so many people in town on a Sunday.
I was really only passing through town en route to watch Bradford City Women, in what was in effect a championship decider against Chester le Street Town, at a very busy Horsfall Stadium. Initially, the two teams seemed quite well matched, but Chester le Street were very well organised defensively, and more clinical when chances arose, leading to a 0-4 final scoreline. Unfortunately only team gets promoted, so City will have to go again next year - I’m sure if they can keep the team together they will make a strong challenge.
Back in town, I caught the final deciding runs of the soapbox racing, with SK Bombardiers (pictured) winning with a fastest time of 33.24 seconds.
