Keeping In Lockstep With A Pram Perambulation
Today was the usual Sunday food shop followed by our customary pint at The Horseshoes - where we got to watch the very entertaining spectacle of some of the guys from behind the bar attempting to replace one of the outside garden parasols (it had got stuck to it's base) - a case of how many barmen does it take to....
It ended up taking three of them, with some added supervision, accompanied by a lot of head scratching, mickey taking and not a little laughter but I think they still appreciated the round of applause we gave then when they finally completed their task!
Instead of heading straight home from The Horseshoes we decided on a quick stopover at Teston Bridge Country Park for a coffee (they do a great cappuccino) and a stroll. My main image was taken looking across from the nearby lock gates as a dad pushing a pram on the opposite river bank perambulated into view. I just liked how different aspects of this image formed frames within a frame - with even the flickering red and white warning tape (which my brother thinks looks a bit like a red and white bolt of lightning) forming a kind of frame with the wire fence within which you can see the dad and the pram (looks better large).
My extra is much more of an abstract effort (there's been quite a few of these recently on my journal!) and is of a temporary footbridge used by workmen who are currently repairing the sluice gates alongside the lock. I just liked the vibrant colours and the shadows, cast by the lovely early afternoon light, heading in so many different directions.
