Today's the day ..................... to go to the show

It was the Annual Show at NTS Threave Gardens today and I went along with Will first thing, because he was doing a stint on the Friends of Broughton House  stand in the big marquee.

It's always a very popular and well-organised event - with lots to see and buy - and because it was a sunny day, the crowds turned out en masse.  It's also a chance to see how things are progressing in Threave Gardens themselves - always a treat.  These strelitzias or Bird of Paradise flowers in one of the big greenhouses, caught my eye.  I came home with a few purchases(!) - and lots of ideas of things to try in the garden.  

Although I'll possibly not attempt the chainsaw carving (see extra) ................. ?!
