Tulips
Today's the day ........................ for a bargain
Last autumn, when I was ordering some plants online from a nursery, there was a special offer of 100 assorted spring bulbs for £9.99. That seemed too good a bargain to miss - so I succumbed and added them to my order.
By the time they arrived in January this year, I'd forgotten all about them - but they did seem to be good healthy bulbs. There was a mix of daffodils, hyacinths and two different sorts of tulips, which I duly planted in two big tubs. And they have been absolutely magnificent - a series of flowers, lasting over six weeks. These are some of the first lot of tulips, which as you can see are quite exotic - and the second lot that have just started to open, look interesting too.
I've no idea how you can make a profit selling 100 bulbs at that sort of price? - but I've enjoyed having them and they've made a lovely display. Without doubt, they've been a real bargain ......................!
