Looping the loop
A good sunny day today - I've spent most of it in the garden, or should I say, dealing with plants.
When MrsM came home mid-morning we carried the chairs to the sunny end of the house and made the most of the sunshine. It occurred to me that I rarely sit so close to plants in the garden, but today I was just a few inches from a potted Pieris japonica ‘Mountain Fire’. Originally from Japan, of course. Next to it is a Amomyrtus luma, a myrtle from Chile. In the next pot is a Grevillea rosmarinifolia, a native of SE Australia, then Chamaerops humilis, a palm from Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, Fuchsia magellanica ‘Logan Woods' the species being Chilean, plus several other potted plants. Gardening is such fun! I do feel slightly sorry for people who will only grow native plants in their gardens!
It was amazingly quiet, just the song of the birds, a very occasional car driving by on the road below us and a pretty rare aircraft overhead. One of these was a familiar red biplane, a Waco flown by a neighbour from just along the road. He did many circuits of the town and I just caught him looping the loop! Unfortunately he was pretty high up, so my blown-up picture isn’t as sharp as I would like. Flying must be great fun too!
A bit more sitting out in the sun later in the afternoon - rather hot again!
