Plants by the sea
A good day today, bright and sunny and getting better as the day went on, though with a bit of a breeze. We decided to go to Poppies Garden Centre for lunch as I wanted to have a look for some more bedding plants, and maybe some sweet peas. My Blip today.
We thought we might sit outside, but it was rather breezy so we stayed indoors for lunch. Afterwards I had a rummage through their bedding collection and bought a few basic things - trailing lobelia and mesembryanthemums and an Argyranthemum frutescens, to complement what I bought yesterday. No sweet peas unfortunately, so I bought a packet of seed instead.
Back home I planted what I'd bought in the various pots and troughs around the front door and on the deck and gave them a good water.
Afterwards we sat out with a cuppa and a book, but by 5pm it was just too hot so I came in! I shouldn't complain - we don't have enough of it really!
Quote of the Day: 'What dreadful hot weather we have! It keeps one in a continual state of inelegance.' - Jane Austen.
