Short stories

Saturday again! How time flies. Down to the pier for fresh fish and a visit to the library. Same old, same old!

When we returned we sat out at the sunny end of the house for a while - we have to make use of all the sunshine we get! Pretty hot, but we mustn't complain!

After lunch I drove up to Benderloch, 15 or 20 minutes north, to the monthly  Bookends Festival at the Victory Hall. Two months ago our speaker had suggested our taking on an idea to write a short story, using the the word 'Victory' as a theme. I hadn't noticed the 250 words bit and wrote something three times as long, so didn't enter it!  When the time came for the stories to be read out, as I thought, it was announced that they were available for everyone to read. When I complained (!), the instigator relented and several of them were read out. I explained what had happened to mine and he suggested that I brought it along next month anyway. When I got home I found that I'd written a shortened version anyway, but obviously forgot to send it in! I much prefer the original version!

Back home to sit out in the sun again, at the other end of the house. Almost too hot again, 33 degrees in full sun. Rosie went indoors and found a shady spot in the living room!
