Anns a' choile

I had set my alarm for 6.30 so I would have time for breakfast before an early(-ish) morning swim. When it went off I was tempted to go  back to sleep but a severe talking to myself I got up and made breakfast.  It was somewhat cold outside - temperatures had dipped to below zero overnight but the water itself wasn't too bad. R was there and we swam and chatted to the pine and back (which is apparently a round trip of about 500m). I walked back through the woods which were much greener that the last time I'd done an early morning swim (which was in March).  I was also rewarded by the sight of a red squirrel running across the road on my way home.

I'm glad I went and I am going to try and get back in the habit - its a good start to the week.

Back home I made two batches of soup (lentil and roasted red pepper), did some hovering and tidying, cut the grass and had more conversations with class mates in preparation for our assessment this week. Today's topic was "if you were to move to another country, which would you move to and why".  I chose "An Tìr Iosal" (Netherlands) and managed to come with reasons why, what I would do there and what I would eat and drink.  I found it trickier than simply talking about going on holiday but we will have another practice tomorrow.

I had been looking forward to the University Challenge Final this evening until I realised it is not on tonight because of the snooker !
