Seeing Beyond Looking

An Unexpected Outing

The lovely walking group that I belonged to last year dissolved because the person who organised it moved further away. However, this year she has decided to start it up again and she contacted me to see if I wanted to go on an outing to a town called Châtel St. Denis in a nearby canton (county) eat a cheese fondue and then go Narcissus picking in the fields!

The only problem was the steady downpour since early this morning! We did however decide to go, six of us, in two cars. The fondue was delicious and the company excellent.

The main photo are huge cow bells decorating the traditional café with amazing carvings on all the walls showing men working at their different trades (first extra photo).

After lunch we did go Narcissus picking in a very wet field with high grass! We each picked a bunch of flowers in bud, holding our umbrellas and getting our trousers soaked! Four of our group went off for a walk in the rain and two of us came home. I was so wet that I needed to get into dry clothes and shoes and drink a hot tea!

Second extra: The Narcissus in a jug with Honey inspecting the flowers carefully.

Some of the others took extra photos of the group, but I haven't received them yet.

I'll be taking more flower photos as the buds open up.
