Hanging Down

It's easy to pass some trees by without a second look, and I have probably done that with this one which I found growing in the gardens of Saltram House, Plymouth. Today though it really stood out. It is a handkerchief tree, also known as the dove tree or ghost tree. At the moment it is in flower and the flowering parts of the tree hang down, a bit like handkerchiefs. The tree is native to China and this one is a very tall, mature example.
