Simonsbath
All we had to do was grab our art supplies and cross the road into a meadow along side the River Barle and valley for today’s en plein air challenge of water and reflections. I must admit I struggled again with too many greens and trees for my liking, but at least managed to produce 2 paintings, one using dad’s old paper again, and one using my own more modern one which was a bit more successful (extra). It didn’t help that it was distinctly cooler and more windy! At least we could go back to the hotel for hot drinks and lunch.
After packing up for the day I took a roam round the meadow with the camera. This shot is of the barn in my picture from a different angle which on reflection may have been better to paint, but it was more exposed from a sitting around point of view and I wanted some water in my painting.
