Had a slow start and then went down to Kilimanjaro for breakfast with D before continuing down to the station. It s unlikely I’ll be walking down Cockburn Street to Waverley again so took this photo of the monument just before I arrived. The train was on time but very crowded from Newcastle to Sheffield- lots of people in football shirts. I changed trains at Sheffield, again all well until just before Langley Mill when we stopped- an elderly and very confused man was sitting on the track and refusing to move, so we had to wait for the police snd ambulance to arrive. He was safe apparently which was good to hear.
Got home about 40 minutes late- the cats were pleased to see me and came to greet me as soon as I walked through the door even though the person feeding them hadn’t seen Otis at all whilst I’d been away.
Unpacked etc , had a cup of tea and then caught the bus to town and walked up to the Mayfair Chinese restaurant to meet some people from the Bridge club. It was really old school - both the restaurant and the food - but I enjoyed it.
