Lin de Montpellier
Just a record shot, because I don't think I've ever blipped this very common garrigue flower, a type of flax. It flowers briefly in the spring.
We decided to take S's knee to the doctor today. Our doctor is very oversubscribed but he does no-appointment consultations in the afternoons. As long as you show up by 6:30 you will be seen ... eventually. We arrived just before six and S was seen at nearly 8 pm. I had thought to wander around Lagrasse looking for a blip, and stop for a coffee, but a) it was a bit chilly and b) at 6 pm sharp the few cafes that were open whipped out the "closed" signs. Well, it was Monday. I ended up joining him in the waiting room and reading a good chunk of my book group book. Verdict: probably just bruising and tissue damage, but go for an x-ray just in case.
As we drove through Ribaute on the way home, feeling rather weary and hungry, S spotted that the restaurant was open -- quite a surprise on a Monday. So I did a U-turn. A good idea -- when we are in Almuñecar we often spontaneously go out to eat, but we almost never do that here, since it inevitably involves driving somewhere. I tucked into a hamburger and S had a casserole of seafood. It was not bad at all, and we enjoyed it all the more for being unplanned. They had a decent number of customers, perhaps not unrelated to everywhere else being closed. Result: we'd set off to the doctor at half past five, and got home at a quarter to ten!
