Another lovely day at Longshaw, although it was a bit chilly to start with. After checking my nest boxes, I had a walk back to the car park via a route I haven’t taken for some time. It offers some fabulous views and I got talking to a couple of visitors (“Southerners” - their own description) who were visiting the Peak District for the first time, and were suitably impressed. There were plenty of butterflies  around, although in limited varieties - the most numerous being Green-veined  Whites. The countdown to our holiday has begun - just 2 days to go.
