Toast and Jam

We were both up early today. Andy had golf first thing and I wanted to give Merlin a good walk before I went off to volunteer. I had a bit of a task to get Merlin in from the garden but in the end I persuaded him to come for a walk and hopefully that helped him rest whilst we were out.

This morning at volunteering we were tidying up the marquee after it was used for a plants sale as part of Emsworth Arts Trail these past few weekends. Afterwards we worked in the poly tunnel planting out tomatoes and basil. At tea break we enjoyed toasted sour dough bread with homemade plum jam - delicious! I’m learning lots from the work we are doing as well as from the other volunteers as we chat about all sorts of things as we undertake our tasks.

This afternoon Andy has been at the dentist and I’ve made a lemon and blueberry cake, and walked Merlin.

My blip shows the willow shelter at Tuppenny Barn where I volunteer. You may remember I blipped it a a month ago when it was only just beginning to come into leaf.
