Was It Something I Said?

I walked into town first thing to drop something off at the charity shop and go to Budgens, then walked in a few hours later for an unplanned lunch. I was having a quote for new windows this afternoon, so thought I'd best have a tidy up, vacuum round and dust. I was cold called by the window company last week, I've used them for doors and fascias & soffits already, but was thinking of only doing the windows when they absolutely need replacing. It was interesting to get the quote and some thoughts about how the window layout could be different. I live in a bungalow which gets very hot in the summer. The 'small' top windows are still quite big and I don't like leaving them open at night for security reasons, but fewer casement windows and wider, smaller upper windows might be better for ventilation. Lots to consider. Looking for a blip I saw this dunnock on the side fence - I got a standard photo, but this one made me smile.

All the eggs have now hatched in my camera bird box and I watched the female blue tit eating the final egg shell this morning. The hatchlings grow so fast and are beginning to get a voice. They have already perfected the beak open for food stance! The male blue tit has also realised that food delivered when the female is sitting on the nest, must be passed to her for distribution - so peace now reigns! I also noticed that blue tits have also nested in the box on the side of my garage.
