Have Camera Will Travel

By cathy1947

I thought we’d bought a multi story car park

But it turns out it was only the price of a four hour stay.
I last visited Stratford- upon-Avon over forty years ago so felt it was time for a return visit.
We park the car and walk down the high street, a high street like so many others with closed shops and food outlets.
We stop and buy food for a picnic lunch that we have by the water and we are entertained by an excellent musical quartet.
The pleasure boats and icecream sellers are doing a roaring trade.
After lunch we cross the bridge to walk down the river passing the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and a family feeding the numerous water birds.
Stanley is very popular and grabs the attention of a little girl out with her grandparents we stop and have a lovely chat.
We recross the river and make our way to Anne Hathaway Cottage passing some very picturesque properties, we decide not to go in on this occasion.
Retracing our steps we are enticed by the lovely beer garden at the Bell Inn where we partake in some liquid refreshments.
Then it was time to make our way back to collect the car and head back to the cottage.
I’ve added a few pictures from our day.
