Today was an in-service day for the schools, adding on to the bank holiday. I've taken the whole week off as early May seemed a sensible time to have a pause. Very glad I have.
Joined S to take P & H out for the day. We started in the museum, mostly looking at the Scottish history and archaeology collections. We did manage to see "the spooky clock" chime and animate.
A trip down to Princes Street for lunch, placing us perfectly for the park in Princes Street Gardens afterwards. When I was told it was "too hot" to play it was a sure sign that ice cream was needed. It was difficult to choose. I opted for dragonfruit sorbet because P was torn between that and long-time favourite mango sorbet. My choice allowed the favourite to win through and everyone got to try the dragonfruit. H had vanilla and S had pistachio.
Bus back after ice cream and I was told they had seen enough sunshine (and "it's right there!" - with a gesture out the window). An animated film entertained until it was time to go home for tea. A really good day.
