Campanula

A very busy day on the allotment.  I planted out the strawberry plants and also a row of spinach but a large amount of time was spent picking off all the slugs and snails that were resting underneath the large black plastic sheeting that needed to be removed.  My back was certainly complaining after all the bending down.  I relocated the black sheeting over a thinner smaller piece of sheeting where I spotted a slow worm.

After lunch I finished off the work on the allotment and then visited a friend for tea and cake.  I hadn't managed to speak to her for any length since her return from a trip to Australia so it was good to chat to her and her husband.  It was also her special birthday tomorrow so a card and present were given.  I must admit I was so tired from all the bending earlier I was reluctant to get up out of the chair and return home.
