Life is a Challenge!

WIDE WEDNESDAY - RATHER MORE THAN A TRIO!

As I had had rather a busy day yesterday, Mr. HCB gave me the option of going out to Hilliers Garden Centre at Lechlade or just mooching about at home, because I am also out at Worship Group Practice tonight.  I didn’t want to miss the chance of going out, so opted to go Lechlade.

We always have a coffee when we first get there and I had decided to have a piece of cake too, but baulked at paying £3.99 for one small slice of cake - or even for a piece of my favourite, which is flapjack - so we just had a coffee and looked into each other’s eyes - so romantic and much cheaper! ;-)

Then it was time to go and look at the Bargain Table - and we were very fortunate today - there was lots to choose from, and you can see them all loaded into the boot of the car - although some of the smaller ones - 5 peppers for the greenhouse - are at the very back and you can’t really see them.

As well as the peppers we have 3 Doronicoms, 2 Violas, 5 Osteospermums, 2 Gaultheria Big Berry, Viburnum Davidii, Escallonia Showstopper, Eryngium and last but not least a beautiful Spiraea Japonica Firelight.  The two pink plants on the far left are a welcome gift - instead of buying a bouquet of flowers - for two new people at Church.  However, when we got round to the house, they haven’t moved in yet - so a good job I decided to buy plants instead of flowers, as they aren’t due to move in until the 23rd May!

So - a very successful morning and it cost us the princely sum of £8.99 - we had two Garden Gift Cards, one from our friend, Louise and another from friends in Wales - together with a voucher from Hilliers - so I’m sure you will agree that for almost £200 worth of plants, that is DEFINITELY a bargain and who doesn’t love a bargain.

Of course, they won’t be able to be planted for a little while, because the ground is very dry, but Mr. HCB will keep them well watered and will, no doubt, talk to them, so hopefully, they will be fine until they are planted.

Once again, off theme - ah well, at least it is a wide angle shot, even though the plants make up more than a trio.

I managed to give out lots of little wooden hearts today - three special ones to a lovely couple with a daughter in a wheelchair - when we stopped to have a lovely chat with them.  That’s what we love about being retired, we have all the time in the world to chat and enjoy people’s company.

Enjoy your day and remember to put on that Factor 50 suncream if you intend sitting in the garden.  M xx
